Wu Pao Chun Bakery : Ice Cream Cups

        In 2018, we were honored to take on a unique design challenge. When the World Horticultural Expo was in full swing in Taichung, we had the opportunity to create a special ice cream cup for Wu Pao Chun's bakery in Taichung. This project allowed us to highlight our innovative thinking, marrying our passion for Eastern design with the natural beauty of Taiwan. Our design team delved deeply into the forms and colors of Taiwanese floral plants, drawing inspiration from them. We aspired for this ice cream cup to reflect the rich diversity and elegance of these flowers, sparking a greater awareness and appreciation for nature conservation. Therefore, our team committed to crafting a design that encapsulated the spirit and ambiance of the Horticultural Expo. We utilized bespoke packaging for our ice cream cup, harmoniously blending traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern design elements. The design of this premium box featured illustrations of a variety of indigenous Taiwanese flowers, resplendent in their varied colors and forms. Each detail of these flora was meticulously represented, every petal and vein, evoking the vitality of nature. The ice cream cup itself is also a piece of art. We used transparent glass material and designed the shape of the cup to mimic petals, allowing patrons to enjoy the beautiful floral scenery within the cup while savoring their ice cream. When you scoop up the ice cream, the petal-like shape of the cup gives a feeling of being enveloped in a sea of flowers, enhancing the enjoyment of the ice cream.

In the ethos of Oriental Packing design, we firmly believe that design is not just a visual feast but also a sensory experience. Therefore, we considered the tactile sensation of the cup in one's hand during its design. We selected high-quality glass material to give the cup a smooth and delicate touch, just like touching a soft petal. Each time you pick up this ice cream cup, it's like having an intimate encounter with nature. The opening and closing design of the box was also carefully considered. The moment the box is opened is akin to stepping into a miniature flower exhibition, amazing the user with its intricate and abundant interior. We hope that this moment of surprise can bring a unique delight to consumers, allowing them to feel our passion for design and reverence for nature while indulging in their dessert. This ice cream cup is not just Wu Pao Chun bakery's tribute to the World Horticultural Expo, but also Oriental Packing design team's homage to the natural beauty of Taiwan. Through this design, we hope to bring attention to Taiwan's natural beauty and inspire enthusiasm for environmental protection and nature conservation.
